WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Gov. Jim Justice spent a few hours hunting and fishing with Don Trump Jr. Tuesday, the governor’s office said.
The son of President Donald Trump is not a member of the Trump administration.“Don Jr. is a real hunter and a great fisherman. We share a real love of the outdoors and it was an honor to show him just a small part of the natural beauty of our state,” Justice said in a statement released by his office. “We talked about the enormous potential of West Virginia and how we have opportunities to create jobs. The Trumps care deeply about our people and I look forward to working with the White House to get federal resources here to help our state in a number of different areas.”
The expedition occurred while members of governor’s administration and leaders in the House and Senate are trying to come up with a budget compromise. The special session is scheduled to resume Monday.
Justice and Trump hunted turkey and fished for trout in Monroe and Greenbrier counties. They caught a rainbow trout but came up empty in turkey hunting.
